If you already have a domain hosted with EPhost, this article details how to add a domain alias your account. Domain alias are domain names that use the same web files and email accounts as an existing domain.
Website Panel (Windows Plans)
- Login to your Account.
- Click the green "Control Panel" button which will open a new window
- In the control panel click "Domains" icon
- Click "Add New"
- Click "Domain"
- Type the domain without WWW
- Check the box to "Assign to existing Web Site" and select website
- Leave all other boxes default and Save
* It is ideal to create a 301 redirect using your .HTACCESS or web.config file to point your alias to your primary domain domain to avoid duplicate content issues with Google etc.
cPanel (Linux Plans)
- Login to your Account
- Click the green "Control Panel" button which will open a new window
- In the control panel click "Aliases" icon
- Type the domain without WWW
- Check the box to "Add Domain" to save it
- Once saved you can optionally "Manage Redirection" to create a 301 Redirect
* It is ideal to use a 301 redirect and point it to your main website to avoid duplicate content issues with Google etc.
Other Control Panel (Windows and Linux Dedicated Server Plans):
Your dedicated server control panel MAY be different than the options above.
- Login to your Account
- Click the green "Control Panel" button which will open a new window
- Use the on-screen help menu to add your Domain Alias
