Pricing for powered-on and powered-off VMs are different. We offer a discount for VMs that are powered-off.

Looking for a way to decrease your VM pricing?

There are several ways to reduce the costs of rarely used VMs.

  1. Reallocate a minimal amount of resources to the VM when powered down. This only takes a few clicks and can cut your cloud hosting bill down substantially.
  2. Create a template from your VM backups and keep in storage. While storage fees are in fact higher than normal VM HDD usage, they are compressed and you are only charged for the actual usage rather than the allocated HDD size.
  3. Delete unneeded backups, templates and/or turn off auto-backups. This will save unnecessary storage fees.
