To create a new database you will need to login to your control panel. We support several control panels so the instructions and button names vary accordingly.
Linux Web Hosting Plans:
- Login to your Account.
- Click on the "Control Panel" button.
- Click or search for "MySQL Database" icon in the Databases section.
- Type in your database name.
- Click "Create Database".
- Scroll down and type in new user name.
- Enter a Password for the database. NOTE: Using the Password Generator will provide a good quality secure password
- Click "Create User".
After Creating the Database and User you must now Add the user to the Database.
- Using the 'User' drop down list, select the user
- Using the 'Database' drop down list, select the database
- Click "Add" and you will be presented with the permissions to assign to the user of the database. NOTE: if installing WordPress often it is "All Privileges"
- Select Permissions and click "Make Changes".
Please Note: Use "localhost" when connecting to the database from your website. Click or search for the PHPMyAdmin link to modify your database.
Windows Web Hosting Plans:
- Login to your Account.
- Click on the "Control Panel" button.
- Click or search for the "Database" icon.
- Select the type of database.
- Click "Create Database".
- Enter database name and "Save".
- Click "Create User".
- Enter a username and password and "Save".
- Assign/add user to database and "Save".
- Click database name to assign user to database.
Please Note: The IP address can be found by clicking on the database. Use the internal IP address (192.168.XXX.XXX) when connecting to the database from your website. Use the external IP address (64.87.XXX.XXX) to connect to your database remotely. If using MySQL you can login to PHPMyAdmin by clicking the "View Database" link from the control panel.
