To reference a domain in SSL use the following procedure depending on the type of SSL certificate you have purchased or was provided for with your hosting account.
Private SSL Certificate:
Just change the URL to HTTPS:// instead of HTTP://
HINT: If you are using WordPress, often this is the only change required in the General Settings Admin Panel section of WordPress when using one of our WordPress Optimized Hosting (includes dedicated IP) or Shared Linux Hosting Plans.
Shared SSL Certificate:
On Windows Plans - When you enabled the shared SSL from the Control Panel you were given a URL to use when referencing a page in SSL. This URL will change for each domain you have enabled in SSL. Our support department can help if this is confusing, just open a ticket on our Support Page.
The URL will look something like this:
"https://secure29.websitecontrols.com/yourdomain-ext/your_page.html"
This location is the same as:
"http://www.yourdomain.com/your_page.html"
WordPress Optimized Plans - we have "Let's Encrypt" turned on by default, this is a free SSL certificate service. You will need to make changes to the WordPress Dashboard (Settings | General) to both the "WordPress Address (URL)" and "Site Address (URL)" from HTTP:// to HTTPS:// (usually lowercase is acceptable)
