Shared Web Hosting customers can use either a shared SSL certificate or a private SSL certificate. Dedicated and Colocated customers will need to use a private SSL certificate.

To Enable Shared SSL

Windows Hosting Plans Control Panel

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click the green 'Control Panel' button
  3. Hover over the 'Web' Icon, Click 'Web Sites'
  4. Click on the website domain name you wish to edit
  5. On the 'Web Site Properties' Window click on the 'SSL' tab
  6. Click the button that says 'Import Existing Certificate'
  7. Click 'Update'

After installing the certificate, it will give you a a URL to use to reference a page in SSL. This URL points to the "wwwroot" directory of your website and is the same location as "www.your-domain.ext".

 

Linux Hosting Plans cPanel

Our WordPress Optimized hosting comes with a dedicated IP address and "Let's Encrypt" SSL Certificate enabled.

 

 

To Purchase/Acquire a Private SSL certificate

You can purchase or request an SSL certificate for your domain name / website in two ways, self purchase or provide some information to support and we can handle it for you and just bill the cost of the certificate.  

Self Purchase

  1. Log into your Account
  2. Under the 'Shortcuts' menu to the left Click 'Order New Services'
  3. Under the 'Categories' menu to the left Click 'Product Addons'
  4. Scroll Down to where you see the two options
    1. SSL Certificate Basic (SSL only) - choose your hosting plan then click 'Order Now' to finish
    2. SSL Website Hosting (SSL + Dedicated IP) - choose your hosting plan then click 'Order Now' to finish

Once the Order is Complete, please email support@ephost.com and let us know what domain the SSL certificate should be installed on and one of our Admins will assist you. If this is for a remotely hosted website, then your SSL Certificate will be emailed to the administrative contact for that domain and then they would need to forward the SSL Certificate to the remote host to install.
